Strijelac jedinog gola na utakmici bio je Ramsey koji se najbolje snašao u gužvi pred gostujućim vratima u 41. minuti.
Ovom pobjedom Aston Villa se bodovno izjednačila sa Southamptonom, oba sastava imaju po sedam bodova, kao i Newcastle United te Bournemouth te se nalaze između 11. i 14. mjesta na ljestvici.
